LITERATURE / MEMORY / IDENTITY
FROM THE EMIRATES AND BEYOND

THE LIBRARY AS A HOUSE

Six rooms.
One continuing line.

Six books do not sit apart on a shelf. They are six places where the same thread is seen under a different light.

I

Three Months, Four Seasons

What a short time leaves in a long life.

Painting from the world of Three Months, Four Seasons

Spring, summer, autumn and winter as ways of remembering one person.

looking back.

III

How Is Life Treating You?

The question asked of strangers.

“How is life treating you, truly?”

The body and the soul meet in a single symbolic day.

IV

Divorce Me… Then Marry Me Again

The circle
was a door.

Two sincere hearts learn to translate one another.

that remains.

THE WRITER'S STUDIO

Literature is not an escape from the question.
It is where the question sits down.

Abdulla Ahmed Al Mansoori writes from Abu Dhabi in Arabic and carries his literary work into English. His worlds move through memory, intimate absence, family silence, bodies and souls, the archive of rooms, and what survives when certainty is over.
